Wildcat PPE is honored to help protect our nation’s medical workers and first responders. Our medical heroes deserve the best, and answering the call is what we do. But with PPE shortages still impacting workers on the pandemic’s front line, we knew we needed to do even more. That’s why we’re excited to announce Wildcat PPE’s new facility, which will allow us to meet the growing demand for American Made PPE. (And when we say American Made, we mean it: our PPE gowns are 100% Made in Texas, down to the very last detail.)

As we enter the last stretch of summer 2020, here’s what you need to know about the need for American Made PPE and the new Conroe, Texas facility where we’ll be manufacturing more of it than ever before.

The need for American Made PPE

As the nation surpasses 5 million coronavirus cases, healthcare workers are dealing with PPE shortages yet again. We’re hearing the same call that compelled Wildcat to launch our PPE manufacturing facility in the spring. Nursing homes and disability facilities are struggling to secure proper PPE for their workers. Many primary care offices aren’t able to open as much as they’d like because they just can’t obtain the PPE their staff requires. Meanwhile, our nation’s industrial sector also needs protective gear to get the job done.

With flu season right around the corner and cases on the rise nationwide, manufacturing PPE in the U.S. is critical to supporting both the economy and the workers who fuel it. When Wildcat PPE saw demand continue to outstrip supply, we moved quickly to build a 120,000 square foot, FDA approved PPE facility in Conroe.

How Wildcat PPE is stepping up

If you’re from the Lone Star State, you already know that Texans have no shortage of ingenuity and grit. That’s why we chose to build our expanded facility in North Houston, an area with a rich local workforce. Based in Conroe, our 120,000 square foot manufacturing facility has increased our PPE production capacity 400%—with plenty of room for steady, continuous growth.

Here are a few highlights of Wildcat PPE’s new facility:

  • Enhanced logistics: Our facility has 20 docks for 18-wheelers and a protected location that’s safely out of the elements. The result? Smoother logistics and increased efficiency for our customers.
  • Safety first strategy: Our entire facility is cleaned and operated per FDA protocol. We have an HR Safety Coordinator on every shift to ensure our customers, employees and partners stay healthy, safe and COVID-19 free. (Learn more about our commitment to safety.)
  • Boosting the local economy: Wildcat PPE provides steady jobs for 720 employees, plus office staff, most of whom are local to Conroe and/or North Houston. And by sourcing our materials in Texas, we’re supporting our state’s economy every step of the way.

As Wildcat PPE continues to scale up its production of Made in America Class I, Level 1 & 2 and Class II, Level 3 gowns, we always have an eye on what’s next. Our R&D team is exploring how we can use automation and other technologies to enhance our efficiency even more. Because our world-class clients, and our nation’s healthcare workers, deserve the best.
